Define Cyberlaw : Cyber Crimes & Webmasters Internet Law

Cyber crime includes doing some thing unwarranted and illegal by cyber intruders, hackers and crackers.

These “bad” guys use some spy software and employ back door tactics to collect a person’s user name, password and Internet protocol address that would enable them to get access into the person’s computer system, vital personal messages and financial information like account balance, credit card number etc. Such information can be used to withdraw money from someone else’s credit card account. Sometimes spy software is cunningly bundled with some useful software and is unknowingly downloaded by the Internet user.

Cyber crime includes sabotaging a website by changing words and graphics and by putting objectionable figure and pictures to defame the original website. Crowding somebody’s mailbox with unsolicited e-mail or “spam” is also a cyber crime that sometimes leads to scams. A new form of cyber crime is asking people through e-mail to donate generously towards relief and rehabilitation of disaster victims.

Hackers have cheated and conned many online consumers and shoppers by collecting their password. In fact they have created havoc in almost all the fields involving the Internet. Legitimate traders and online users have suffered a lot from these cyber crimes.

Anybody who has suffered from any form of cyber crime may inform it to the FBI and The National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) and United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team. Complains may also be lodged with the Federal Trade Commission.

The best way to avoid cyber crimes is by educating people about the means and methods to stay safe online so that they continue to remain smart and protect themselves.
